Melvin Jones Fellow Lion Prem Lahoty of MD 322 from Kolkata, India, is a member of the Board of Directors of the The International Association of Lions Clubs for 2000-02.

He was inducted into this movement in 1972. A life member of his home club Lions Club of Kolkata Midtown, Prem, has been the guiding force behind the club's Multiproject Centre at Narendrapur.

He climbed the rungs of leadership steadily leaving his indelible mark on each step. As District Governor in 1984-85 he mooted the idea of joint projects between city and rural clubs successfully implementing the twinning principle. His call was " Action with Affection". As an active member of MD 322 Lion Lahoty has served his multiple in various capacities. On the national level he has participated in the affairs of LCCI, the apex body of Lions in India as his multiple's nominee, Editor-India Lion, Treasurer and Vice Chairman.

At the various International Forums and Conventions that he has attended, Lion Prem has actively deliberated on a number of issues and participated in group discussions.

In recognition of his services to the association, Director Lahoty has received numerous awards-100% District Governor Award, Extension Award, Four International President's Certificate of Appreciation and Four Presidential Medals amongst others.

As Director, his main emphasis is on utilizing the advancements made in Information Technology to strengthen our organization. With this end in view he has launched a portal-lionsnet. org wherein he wishes to list each and every service project of our Area.

His philanthropic pursuits are not restricted to this association alone. He is actively involved in a number of organizations and projects.

A graduate from Calcutta University, Director Lahoty has business interests in Kolkata and in Assam.

His greatest strength lies in the fact that he has been able to inculcate commitment to the ideologies of the movement not only in his wife but also in his entire family. His wife,Saveeta has served her club and district through various offices and has even been a Zone Chairman herself. His three daughters are equally involed and hold high office in their clubs and district.

Lion Pravin Chhajed was born in Sardar Shahar, Rajasthan. He started his Lionistic career as a Leo and was the Charter Secretary of Lions Club Karnavati and President in the year 1987-88. Lions Karnavati is one of the largest club with membership strength of 540. He was the District Governor of District 323-B in year 1994-95, Multiple Council Chairman of M.D. 323 in the year 1995-96 and Hon. Secretary of LCCI from 1998-2001.

Pravin is a maestro in strategic Planning. An inborn organizer, a motivator parexcellence, an innovator and trend setter in every assignment .

He is gifted with all the typical traits of a successful enterpreneur - an overprenerur an over powering will to achieve, a positive mental attitude, tremendous foresight, resourcefulness, communication abilities, all of them being qualities of leadership.

He has mastered the art of bringing out the best in fellow Lions and this has helped him acheving excellent result in whatever mission he has ever taken up, whether it is organizing a meg event like All India Lions Convention or a Multiple Convention or a mission to collect huge funds under Campaign Sight First.

As a faculty member and trainer he has own inimitable style of sharing his knowledge and experience with the participants. While conducting a seminar of a training session his emphasis is always on sharing practical tips with the participant based on his own experience.\

"Excellence in Service through Excellence in Administration" has been Pravin's motto. Two sterling examples of his establishing Lions District 323 B Office and Lions Karnavati Eye Hospital, an LCIF project which has the distiction of having completed 50000 IOL surgeries in first five year since its inception. One more dream that will soon realize is a Lions Karnavati School the foundation stone of which was laid in the month of June 2001.

Pravin has been highly influenced by preaching of acharya Shri Tulsi. He is the working President of Gujarat Rajya Anuvrat Samiti a character building mavement started by Acharya Shri Tulsi. " Lions Enriching Character, Culture and Community" was his theme when he was the District Governor. For his outstanding work in this field Pravin has been felicitated with "Yuvak Ratna Award" by His Holiness Acharya Shri Mahapragyaji.

Over the year, Pravin attended 9 International Conventions and 7 Area Fourms. His outstanding contribution to Lions organization has been recognized and honoured. He is the recipient of Six International President's Awards and four International President's Leadership Medals. He has also received Leadership Medal from Quest International for his role in Award and a progressive melvin Jones Fellow.

Beside Lions Organization he is also associated with many organizations and institutions. He is life member of Ahemedabad Management Association, Gujarat Research & Medical Institute and Indian Red Cross Society. In the past he has offered his services as the Executive Committee Member of Ahemedabad Maskati Mahajan for three years.

Pravin is engaged in the business of Textiles, Construction and Travels. He is Chairman & Managing Director of Bumaco Group of Companies.

Pravin is married to Kanchan who herself is a Charter Lion Member of Lions Club of AshaPalli. They are blessed with two children viz. son Prerak and daughter Preksha.

Chhajeds are a well-knit family. All the five brothers with their families live under one roof and have set an example of harmonious living.

A God-fearing & family man, Pravin is a man of the masses. For him every "Today" is a foundation for a better "Tomorrow". He firmly believes that the most important factor for any dream to come true lies in trust in other and self.
